The future locations of both the Isiolo House of Prayer and Missions And Prayer School (MAPS) will soon be on land that was purchased years ago. These two separate building projects are about to be underway and, though the area is currently undeveloped, will rapidly increase the cost of land and living as roads are developed, wells are dug, and power is made available. The location is outside of the already established town and areas surrounding Isiolo and the commute could place some intense limitations on my ability to travel and serve in community due to safety concerns. As global circumstances continue to shift, our spiritual family on the field believes there is wisdom in being close to the base and one another. Several members of my team have purchased land and begun building their homes in this same area. I have also purchased a small piece of land in the area and plan to build on it. The goal is to be as off-grid, self sustaining as possible between us. Meaning the use of solar power, well-water, biodigesters, gardening, and more. This will eliminate cost of living greatly and position us for the long haul, despite the potential global economic highs and lows.
I am hoping not only to build a house, but a home to call my own and as a symbol of the commitment to my role in seeing the gospel shared unto the ends of the earth and the goodness of the Lord made known to the lost.
