Heads in Helmets at The Special Needs Resource & Wellness Fair

I had such a good time hanging out with the volunteers with the Justice for Children Foundation at Bryan County's 1st Annual Special Needs Resource & Wellness Fair on Saturday, November 5th. Howard Spiva, of the Spiva Law Group & founder of Justice For Children Foundation, Inc., has devoted much time & energy into this non-profit which is primarily concerned with preventing brain injuries in children by providing families with free helmets.

perfect fit.

Each year, more than 130 children die from falls, and 2,500,000 are treated for injuries in emergency rooms. The mission behind Heads in Helmets is to drastically reduce those numbers.

The event offered information from 70 professionals (who all had some type of gift to offer), face painting, cotton candy, raffles, & a whole lot of newfound knowledge. It was nice to see the community of Richmond Hill enjoying a beautiful, Saturday morning.

As the older sibling of a special needs child, I certainly appreciate the effort made on all parts at the wellness fair & hope to see an even greater turnout next year.
